Maternal Wellness
Jill Wodnick, MA, CD(DONA) is a dynamic communicator, using her words to inspire and empower. Jill has years practicing as a certified birth doula, childbirth educator, and prenatal yoga instructor. Jill has trained women’s health professionals at Expectant Head Start, the Black Infant Mortality Resource Reduction Center as well as hundreds of expectant parents. Specializing in stress reduction practices, Jill uses the tools of shamanism, meditation, and yoga to remind women of their own body wisdom for birth. Jill just released a prenatal relaxation cd, “Prenatal Peace & Calming,” which supports global maternity care.
Frequently quoted in the media as an expert in childbirth, pregnancy, and parenthood topics, Jill is passionate about the essential topic of maternal-child health. With a vibrant academic background, a passion for public policy, and outstanding extemporaneous speaking, she is a sought after communicator.
Jill has taught public speaking, interpersonal communication, oral interpretation, and creative drama for Seton Hall Prep, Seton Hall University, the PA State System of Higher Education’s Undergraduate Women’s Leadership Institute, Kent Place’s Girls Leadership Institute, and the NJ Governor’s School of Public Issues. She teaches prenatal yoga classes at the Montclair Family Center, doula trainings, childbirth education, and other classes for labor and delivery professionals.
Jill has an MA in corporate & public communication plus numerous holistic trainings, accreditations, and experiences. She authors essays on the passage to motherhood and can be found singing, baking, and playing Yahtzee with her husband and her three sons.
